Headache is a unilateral headache of moderate to severe intensity with pulsating pain lasting for 4-72 hours, may be associated with nausea, vomiting, noise or light sensitivity, and may be preceded by aura in an hour. For acute episode NSAID or paracetamol, triptans like sumitriptan ,naratriptan , Zolmitriptan, Rizatriptan , or ergot alkaloids works.For prevention of migraine various medications like amitriptyline , propranolol , valproate , etc can be used . Lifestyle modifications like avoiding migraine triggering agents, avoid change in sleeping pattern, etc are useful.If headache is refractory to pain medicines, Sphenopalatine ganglion block and radio frequency ablation can be helpful in certain number of patients. For cervicogenic headache, third occipital nerve block, cervical median branch block can be very helpful if diagnosed correctly.
