Luxury Tax
Luxury tax has been levied in year 2007 on hotels and banquet halls. The rate of tax applicable is 10 per cent on the hotels charging room rent of Rs 2, 000 or more per day. The banquet halls and marriage palaces, which charge Rs 20, 000 or more as rent per day, will be covered by the new tax.
