Doxycyline for Injection USP 100 mg Vets Doxycycline Injection Indications Vetdox has been found clinically effective in the treatment of a variety of infections caused by susceptible strains of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and certain other micro-organisms Tick borne diseases like lyme disease, ehrlichiosis toxoplasmosis Respiratory tract infections Pneumonia and lower respiratory tract infections due to susceptible strains of streptococcus pneumonia. Treatment of chronic bronchitis, sinusitis Urinary tract infections caused by susceptible strains of klebsiella species, enterobacter species, escherichiacoli, streptococcus faecalls, chlamydia along with many other canine bacterial infections. Preparation of solution To prepare a solution containing 40mg/ml, the contents of the vial should be reconstituted with 10 ml of sterile water for injection IP. Each 400 mg of Doxycyline (i.e withdraw entire solution from the 100 mg vial) is further diluted with 400 to 1000 ml of the intravenous solutions : A. 0.9% Sodium chloride Injection IP B. 5% Dextrose Injection IP This will result in desired concentrations of 0.1 to 1. mg/ml concentrations lower than 0.1 mg/ml or higher than 1. mg/ml are not recommended.
